Every tool is also an action in Spotlight and the Shortcuts app, so you can run it without opening Control Center.

Spotlight

Press ⌘ Space and type Lights Out, Toggle Stay Awake or Toggle Mic Mute. They work right after install.

Keyboard shortcutاختصار كيبورد

Give any tool its own key combination in the Shortcuts app.

  1. Open the Shortcuts app and create a new shortcut.

Changing sleep settings needs administrator rights. Tapdeck uses a tiny helper that can do exactly one thing: switch disablesleep on or off. Most problems come from a permission that was skipped or switched off. Each one takes a few seconds to fix.

Nothing is broken. Tap Stay Awake again and the request comes back. Or go there yourself and turn on Tapdeck under Allow in the Background:

Stay Awake can't change sleep settings until it's back on, and it asks each time you tap it. Turn Tapdeck on again in the same place. If Tapdeck is missing from the list, tap Stay Awake once to add it back.

Click Done, then click Open Anyway next to Tapdeck in Privacy & Security (step 3 of the install guide). If you already moved it to the Trash, download it again.

Tapdeck keeps running in the background, so Finder can't replace it. Quit it first with this command:

Make sure Tapdeck is in your Applications folder, not running from the disk image, and open it once. Then close Control Center and open Edit Controls again.

After an update, a new tool is missing or a control looks oldبعد التحديث، أداة جديدة لا تظهر أو زر يظهر بشكل قديم

macOS can keep using an older copy of Tapdeck it still remembers, for example one left in Downloads, the Trash or an old disk image. Paste this into Terminal: it quits Tapdeck, makes macOS forget every copy outside Applications, and reloads the Control Center buttons.

The last line should show the version you installed. If it shows an older one, the new Tapdeck never reached Applications: download it again and drag it in. Then close Control Center and open Edit Controls › Tapdeck; the new tool is there.

Move the pointer or press any key; the brightness keys work too. If Tapdeck was quit while the screen was dark, open it again and it restores your saved brightness.

Which microphones can Mic Mute silence?ما الميكروفونات التي يستطيع Mic Mute كتمها؟

Every microphone with a mute switch, which includes the Mac's built-in mic and most USB mics and audio interfaces. A few have no mute or volume control at all, such as an iPhone used through Continuity or a virtual mic from a recording app; if the one in use is like that, Tapdeck tells you. The mute lives in the microphone itself, so it holds even if Tapdeck quits. This lists every mic on your Mac and whether it can be muted:

How do I check Stay Awake from Terminal?كيف أتأكد من Stay Awake من Terminal؟
pmset -g | grep SleepDisabled

SleepDisabled 1 means Stay Awake is on, 0 means it's off.

To prove the Mac didn't sleep with the lid closed: note Sleep Count, close the lid for a minute or two, open it and run the command again. The same number means it never slept.
